Thursdays, starting May 5th, 2016, through June 23, 2016

Starting Thursday, May 5th, the Gampopa Center will offer a special eight week course on the secret and precious Mahamudra teachings of the Kagyu lineages. The particular text that we will study over the course of eight sessions will be "A Record of Mahamudra Instruction" by Kunkhyen Pema Karpo, which is found in Lama Phurbu Tashi Rinpoche's latest book, Mind & Meditation.

As the practice of Mahamudra is a secret and precious meditation practice, Ngondro instruction is a necessary prerequisite for this course. Also, because the Ngondro preliminaries are necessary to the practice of Mahamudra meditation, we will also do some of these preliminaries as well. We will practice the refuge and bodhichitta prayers from the Ngondro Sadhana each week, and alternate the Vajrasattva, Mandala Offering, and Guru Yoga prayers each week after that.

The price for this eight week course is $80. If you are a patron of the Gampopa Center, the price is $60. If you would like to become a patron, please go to our Membership page to sign up and take advantage of the discounted pricing.

Additionally, we will be using two texts for the course, both of which are available for purchase at the Center: Mind & Meditation by Lama Phurbu Tashi Rinpoche ($18); and the Ngondro Sadhana Prayer Book ($20).
