Sunday from 3 -4.30  Teachings on Seven Points of Mind Training

Mind Training is a practice in the Buddhist tradition based on a set of proverbs formulated in Tibet in the 12th century by Chekawa. Through the practice we undertake to connect with our world in an unconditionally positive way, and also to take full responsibility for our experience of it.
Unlike many practices it does not require that you sign on to a particular system of beliefs, nor is it something that you can only do on your meditation cushion. In fact, the best practice is often done out in the world, with exactly those people and situations that upset and irritate you the most.
The twin foundations of the practice are Ultimate Bodhicitta, which could be very roughly be translated as ‘Open-Mindedness’, and Relative Bodhicitta, which could be translated, again very roughly, as ‘Compassion’.
The fifty-seven or so proverbs form a very skilful set of antidotes to the bad mental habits, paranoia, and fixed ideas that cause us so much suffering.

Sunday from 5 - 6.30 Teaching and practice together on Deity  meditation

Deity practice is special profound skillful means to gain spiritual accomplishments based on general teachings of the Enlightened One:   wisdom, the understanding of the true nature reality and  compassion, an altruistic awakened mind are those means.

Tuesday from  7 - 8.30 Practice of Seven Points of Mind Training

Wednesday from  7 - 8.30 Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa

Milarepa is famous for many of his songs and poems, in which he expresses the profundity of his realization of the dharma with extraordinary clarity and beauty. He also had many disciples, male and female .
Tibetans accord  The Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa a classic comparable to that of the Mahabharata and the Bible, and revere its author as probably the best single exemplar of the spiritual life. Milarepa was an eleventh century Buddhist poet and saint, a cotton clad yogi who avoided the scholarly instructions of his time and wandered from village to village, teaching enlightenment and the path to buddhahood through his spontaneously composed songs. Wherever he went , crowds of people gathered to hear his sweet sounding voice , singing the Dharma
Milarepas dharma songs are an immense treasury of spiritual teachings, a repository of yogic instructions, a guide on the Bodhi path, and provides inside information on the spiritual life of the Tibetan people – laymen, yogis, and monks alike – presenting a vivid picture of their spiritual problems, striving, and accomplishments.
